Sauly Boy’s a new gourmet hot dog, burger, and loaded french fries joint opened this week at 124 S. Allen St. The restaurant boasts an industrial chic atmosphere and, photographer Jamie Saslaw found, some incredibly delicious food.
The site had been vacant since Philly Pretzel Factory moved its local franchise to the Benner Pike Walmart in 2013. For years, the building was home to Graham’s Newsstand and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, which closed in 2007.
This summer signage began to appear for Sauly Boy’s, which is owned by the proprietors of Irving’s Bagels and Fiddlehead on College Avenue. The new restaurant’s first day of business was Tuesday, and it’s now open daily 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
