Pumpkin Fest 2024 — Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19

The Penn State Arboretum is hosting its annual Pumpkin Fest from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Arboretum at Penn State. The family-friendly event will have a pumpkin carving contest, lighted jack-o-lanterns on display, music, food and activities.

Ghosts and Goblins 2024 — Friday, Oct.18 and Saturday, Oct. 19

Lincoln Caverns’ Adventures Thru the Abandoned Abyss is coming to its Ghosts and Goblins 2024 series from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19, as well as from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Lincoln Caverns in Huntingdon. Guests are invited to experience triple the terror, triple the fun during 90 minutes through the caves, the woods and on a wagon.

Fall Foliage Bike Ride — Saturday, Oct. 19

The State College Borough Bicycle Ambassadors will host a Fall Foliage Bike Ride from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, starting at Orchard Park in State College. The event is designed to be slow-paced and family-friendly to view the area’s changing leaves. There will also be fall-themed games and activities in the picnic pavilion. Participants dressed in a costume will get the chance to enter a raffle prize drawing. Registration for the event is required and can be found online at bit.ly/FallFoliageBikeRide.

Halloween Pet Parade — Saturday, Oct. 19

The Jacki and Brian Rutter group of Keller Williams Advantage Realty is hosting a Halloween Pet Parade from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Pennsylvania Military Museum Path in Boalsburg. Guests are asked to wear a costume and bring their pets for a night of fun with refreshments, goodie bags and treats. All pets must be watched by their owner and on a leash to participate.

All Hallow’s Eve at Penn’s Cave — Saturday, Oct. 19

The All Hallow’s Eve celebration will be at Penn’s Cave in Centre Hall at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Halloween cavern tour will include an entirely guided 45-minute tour by boat of the all-water cavern. The cave will feature lanterns, Halloween decorations, props and more surprises. The tour will also highlight haunting stories and legends that surround the caverns. In addition to the tour, Pete’s Miner’s Maze will get a Halloween makeover with additional props and surprises.

Apple Fest at Curtin Village — Saturday, Oct. 19

Apple Fest at Curtin Village will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village in Howard. The event features all things apples including apple butter, desserts, apple cider, hard apple cider and wine for those 21 years or older, Irish music, a photo booth, goats, food for purchase and much more. The event is a fundraiser with a $5 admission fee, but kids 10 and under are admitted for free.

Haunted-U — Saturday, Oct. 19

The Penn State Eberly College of Science’s Office of Science Outreach is hosting Haunted-U from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at University Park’s Whitmore Lab, Osmond Lab and Mueller Lab. Guests are invited to experience the fun, free and educational community event.

Sweetest Day Pumpkin Patch Hunt — Saturday, Oct. 19

The Sweetest Day Pumpkin Patch Hunt will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at State College’s Harmony at State College. All are invited to the candy-filled pumpkin patch hunt to enjoy cozy fall vibes and fun. There will be two rounds of pumpkin picking, separated by age groups.

Bellefonte YMCA Fall Fest — Saturday, Oct. 19

The Bellefonte YMCA will host a Fall Fest for kids from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. There will be free activities including cornhole, apple archery, trick-or-treat tables, a spooky scavenger hunt and more.

Punkin’ Chunkin’ Fall Festival 2024 — Saturday, Oct. 19

The 2024 Punkin’ Chunkin’ Fall Festival will be back for another year on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bald Eagle State Park in Howard. The Howard Fire Company’s one-day festival will feature pumpkin launching from catapults, trebuchets and more. In addition to the pumpkin launching, there will be nearly 100 craft vendors, hayrides, food vendors, activities for kids, a pumpkin pie eating contest and more fun. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are accepted and benefit Howard Fire Company #14 and future iterations of the Punkin’ Chunkin’ Fall Festival.

The Good Shepherd Catholic Church Fall Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the church in Port Matilda. There will be food trucks, crafts for sale, kids’ activities, a play area, music and more.

The 2024 Witches Rallye — Saturday, Oct. 19

The 2024 Witches Rallye benefiting the Jana Marie Foundation will be from 1:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, throughout Centre County. The annual scavenger hunt organized by the Central PA Region Sports Car Club of America challenges friends and families to take on the timed route through Central Pennsylvania. Scores will be calculated during the free dinner at the end of the scavenger hunt. There will be trophies for the best-scoring teams and top costumes. There will also be raffle tickets for sale. Wasson Farm will have its Fall Fest weekend from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, and Sunday, Oct. 20, at Wasson Farm in State College. There will be a hayride, pick your own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm animals, straw tunnel, games, barrel train, food and wine tasting.

The Bike Roost is hosting a Halloween Bike Ride from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, on the Pennsylvania Military Museum Grounds in Boalsburg. Guests are invited to dress up themselves, dress up their bike or come as you are for a fun family-friendly ride. Tricks and treats will be provided by local businesses. No registration is required for the event.

Bellefonte Union Cemetery is hosting its first-ever trunk or treat event from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the cemetery in Bellefonte.

Trick-or-Treat Night at the All-Sports Museum — Tuesday, Oct. 22

There will be a trick-or-treat night at the All-Sports Museum starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the museum at University Park’s Beaver Stadium. The event is free for families and guests are invited to stick around for the Fun Fair after trick-or-treating. There will be a DJ, a performance from the Statesmen acapella singers, activities and photo opportunities with the Nittany Lion, PSU varsity athletes and more community and campus participants.

Safe Trick-or-Treat Night — Thursday, Oct. 24

Juniper Village at Brookline is hosting its annual Safe Trick-or-Treat Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Juniper in State College. Juniper residents, their family members and Juniper’s Partners in Caring will be handing out candy. Kids are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume.

Stocker Dealership Trunk or Treat — Friday. Oct. 25

Stocker Dealerships is inviting the community to its trunk or treat event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Stocker Chevrolet Dealership in State College. There will be candy and treats, a trunk decorating contest, Halloween activities, the Teal Pumpkin Project and local partnerships with local businesses.

There will be a Craft/Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Centre Pointe Church in Lemont. There will be vendors, games, the Farmstead Fusion food truck and a pumpkin patch where kids 12 and under can pick a pumpkin for free.

There will be candy, music, fun, games and the opportunity to earn more about CPAU. Freedom Life Church is hosting its Freedom 5K and Trunk or Treat event for the second year in a row with registration kicking off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Bald Eagle Area High School in Bellefonte. Stonebridge Senior Apartments in State College is hosting a fall craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The craft fair is open to the public and there will be knitted goods, greeting cards, snacks, a treasure auction, a silent auction and more.

The Talleyrand Fall Fest will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, on the Annex side of the park near the Match Factory in Bellefonte. The event is held as a fundraiser for the Bellefonte Area Rotary Club. Funds raised at the festival are allocated to various organizations throughout the community.

The Our Lady of Victory Bazaar will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Our Lady of Victory School in State College. The annual bazaar is open to the public and will have food, baked goods, kids’ games, a yard sale of toys, crafts, entertainment, theme basket raffles and a silent auction.

Park Forest Village United Methodist Church is hosting a Trunk or Treat event from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the church in State College. The event will also feature some special guests including a Patton Township police officer and squad car.

The annual Boalsburg Halloween Celebration will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the Boalsburg Heritage Museum in Boalsburg. The Brass Rats will perform at the event. Guests are invited to enjoy hot cider, popcorn, book bingo, face painting, pumpkin decorating and more.

Halloween Costume Parade — Sunday, Oct. 27

Centre Region Parks and Recreation is hosting the 76th annual Halloween Costume Parade on Sunday, Oct. 27. The parade will line up at 6:30 p.m. along Burrowes Avenue between College and Beaver Avenues in downtown State College. Costume judging and prizes will take place at Memorial Field in six different categories.
