Lights, Camera, Christmas Trolleys — Friday, Dec. 20 through Sunday, Dec. 22
Lights, Camera, Christmas Trolleys will be on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from now through Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Rockhill Trolley Museum in Rockhill Furnace. Guests are invited to take a night-light ride on a restored and heated antique trolley. There will also be free hot chocolate and cookies with a viewing of the model train layout at the pavilion. Admission is $10 for kids and $12 for adults.
Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society Sensory Friendly Train Ride — Saturday, Dec. 21
The Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society will have a Sensory Friendly Train Ride at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, in Bellefonte. While the train will still be decorated, the Sensory Friendly Train Ride does not have music, no holiday characters and no indoor lights for those who prefer a calmer holiday experience. Tickets are $15 per person and can be found online at BellefonteTrain.org. Babies and kids small enough to ride on an adult’s lap are not required to have a ticket.
Centre Hall Community Christmas Crafts at the Library — Saturday, Dec. 21
The Centre Hall Area Branch Library will host Crafts at the Library during Centre Hall Community Christmas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21. Guests are invited to drop by the library to make holiday ornaments to take home. There will also be free cookies to enjoy provided by Partnership for Penns Valley Library Services while crafting. All ages are invited.
State College Municipal Band Cookies and Carols Concert — Sunday, Dec. 22
The State College Municipal Band is hosting its Cookies and Carols Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Mount Nittany Middle School in State College. The new event this year will feature holiday tunes of all different kinds of “flavors” performed by the band. From Sleigh Bells to traditional carols to even some of Santa’s favorites, there will be plenty to tap your toes to. The concert will be followed by a Cookies and Treats Reception with snacks provided by members of the band as a thank you to guests.
Knit Wits — Monday, Dec. 23
Community members are invited to bring their knitting or crocheting projects from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, at the Holt Memorial Library in Philipsburg. All skill levels are welcome to join. There is no set project, so guests are asked to bring what they are currently working on.
Free Christmas Day Ham Dinner — Wednesday, Dec. 25
The State College Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Christmas Dinner for the State College community from 3 to 6 p.m. in the church’s dining hall. On the menu this year is a ham dinner with scalloped potatoes, dressings and other sides. Anyone unable to physically attend the dinner can arrange meal delivery by calling the church at 814-238-2422.
Community Christmas Dinner — Wednesday, Dec. 25
Faith United Methodist Church is hosting a free Community Christmas Dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, in the Fellowship Hall at the church in Bellefonte. The dinner has options for everyone and is an opportunity to come together, share the festive spirit and make memories.
December Line Dancing with Lion Country Line Dancing — Thursday, Dec. 26
There will be December Line Dancing with Coleen and Donald Reese of Lion Country Line Dancing on Thursday, Dec. 26, at the rink in Snow Shoe. Guests are invited to dance off those extra December calories. Admission to the event is $5.
