Free Shred Event — Friday, April 25

Perry Wellington Realty is hosting a free shred event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Annette Yorks Group Perry Wellington Realty in Boalsburg.

The event is set to help support the Harris Township Lions Club’s Local Sight Fund and was done in partnership with North Central Sight Services Inc. The Shred Event is aimed at providing a way for members of the community to dispose of their confidential documents while making meaningful connections.

Earth Day on the Farm — Friday, April 25

The Penn State Student Farm is hosting its annual Earth Day on the Farm festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm in State College. Shuttles will be available at the Creamery to bring guests to the farm.

During the celebration, there will be farm tours, live music, crafts and much more.

Boalsburg Fire Hall Yard and Bake Sale — Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26

The Boalsburg Fire Hall Yard and Bake Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 25 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Boalsburg.

The sale will feature 25 tables with a variety of items including antiques, collectibles, jewelry, toys, fabric, Willowtree figurines, paper weights, books, puzzles, houseware and more in addition to the bake sale.

Pulled Pork Dinner to Benefit the Young Family — Saturday, April 26

There will be a pulled pork dinner to benefit the Young family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Milesburg Community Center in Milesburg.

Brian Young died on Jan. 18 following a medical procedure and the dinner is to help his wife and three kids cover the cost of his funeral, burial and headstone.

Admission to the dinner is $15 per person and includes the pulled pork dinner with other activities such as a basket raffle, pick a duck and an envelope wall.

Rabies Clinic at Fairbrook UMC — Saturday, April 26

There will be a rabies vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26, at Fairbrook United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania Furnace.

Other vaccinations will also be available at the clinic.

The event is cosponsored by Baileyville Grange and Metzger Animal Hospital.

Happy Valley Puzzle Swap and Casual Puzzling — Saturday, April 26

Guests are invited to swap their gently used jigsaw puzzles, learn puzzle chess and do some casual puzzling with the Happy Valley Puzzle Swap at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Schlow Centre Region Library in State College.

Participants in the swap are asked to bag the pieces and/or tape the box as well as label the puzzles with missing pieces or heavy smells/smoke.

Guests can leave a puzzle on the table and take as many as they brought.

Logan Grange #109 Drive-Thru Soup Sale — Saturday, April 26

Logan Grange #109 will have a Drive-Thru Soup Sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Pleasant Gap at 122 N. Main St.

Soup is $9 per quart, and options include chicken corn noodle, white chicken chili and stuffed pepper.

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails Spaghetti Dinner and Dice Run — Saturday, April 26

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails will have its Spaghetti Dinner and Dice Run at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Moshannon Community Center.

The meal is $12 per person and includes all you can eat spaghetti, salad, a dessert and beverages. Kids six and under eat for free.

The Pine Creek Four Wheelers will also be having a Dice Run during the event. Guests must be an SSRTA member to operate a machine at the event and memberships will be available to purchase at the event.

Foxdale Village Garage and Plant Sale — Saturday, April 26

Foxdale Village is hosting a plant and garage sale from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26.

The sale will take place in Foxdale’s upper parking lot, next to the State College Friends School.

At the sale there will be furniture, lamps, art, collectibles, jewelry, home décor, fine China, linen, appliances, games, books, homemade goodies and much more.

Emergency Preparedness Series — Saturday, April 26

Guests are invited to the Grace United Church of Christ for a session on emergency preparedness at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the church in Spring Mills.

Learn about the increasing risk of disasters and how to be prepared, presented by the Penn Central Conference Disaster Readiness and Response Team.

Fill the Truck Shoe Drive Fundraiser — Sunday, April 27

The Bellefonte Area High School Class of 2028 Parent Group is hosting its Fill the Truck Shoe Drive Fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, at the Giant on the Benner Pike. The event will help raise funds to support senior year activities for the BAHS class of 2028.

The BAHS Class of 2028 Parent Group will earn money based on the total weight of shoes with the collaboration of Funds2Orgs. All the shoes will then be distributed by Funds2Orgs to people in need.

Do some spring cleaning and donate new, gently worn and used shoes to the Fill the Truck Shoe Drive Fundraiser.

Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society Spring 2025 Train Rides — Sunday, April 27

The Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society is offering round-trip excursions from Bellefonte to various locations on Sunday, April 27, in Bellefonte.

Destinations on the train ride include Lemont, Mill Hall, Sayers Dam and Tyrone.

Tickets are available online at bellefontetrain.org. There will also be excursions taking place on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11.

Bird Walks with the State College Bird Club — Tuesday, April 29

The State College Bird Club and the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center are hosting a bird walk at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, at the nature center in State College.

Guests are invited to start off their day by observing birds that are migrating to and through the Centre Region. The program is open to all ages and is great for beginners.

A donation of $5 is suggested to support Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, and guests are asked to dress for the weather and bring binoculars.

Nittany Baptist Church Children’s Program — Wednesday, April 30

Nittany Baptist Church will have its AWANA program for kids grades kindergarten through sixth at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at the church in State College.

The program is designed to build a spiritual foundation in children to help them navigate life using the nationally recognized AWANA program. The program will be in building two. For more information, call 814-360-7157.

Women and Queer Bike Night — Thursday, May 1

The Penn State Transportation Services is hosting its monthly Women and Queer Night from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, at University Park’s Bike Den, which is located on the ground floor of the West Deck.

The event is open to the local community in addition to Penn State students, faculty and staff. Guests are invited to come and work on their bikes, enjoy some pizza and talk to Bike Den staff and volunteers to learn more about biking in the area.

Cosponsored by Penn State’s Center for Gender Equity and Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, the event looks to create a local community centered around biking while providing an opportunity for folks from underrepresented groups to connect with each other and other cyclists.

Centre Knitters Guild — Thursday, May 1

The Centre County Knitters Guild meets on the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Patton Township Municipal Building.
