STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW
State police responded to a multi-vehicle crash around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, along Interstate 99 in Benner Township.
According to police, dense fog in the area caused little to no visibility for drivers and the roadway had to be shut down for two hours after multiple vehicles hit each other. Minor injuries were reported in the crash, police said.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, along Interstate 99 in College Township. According to police, a 21-year-old State College man was driving a 2020 Dodge Charger when he left the roadway and hit a cable barrier on the side of the road. Police did not report any injuries.
State police responded to a crash around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, along Green Grove Road in Gregg Township. According to police, an 18-year-old Spring Mills woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when she veered to the right and hit a utility pole. She then continued down the embankment before coming to a stop. A 19-year-old Coburn man was driving a 1995 Ford F250 behind the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt when the utility pole that was hit began to fall and struck the roof and bed of the 1995 Ford F250. The 18-year-old Spring Mills woman was cited for the crash.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, along Howard Divide Road in Curtin Township. According to police, a 69-year-old Howard man was driving a 2019 GM Yukon when he began to veer off the road and hit an embankment. The vehicle then continued up the embankment before reentering the road. The driver is suspected to have minor injuries and was cited for the crash.
State police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, along South Centre Street and South 4th Street at the intersection with Hickory Street in the Philipsburg Borough. According to police, what was identified as a Swift Transportation truck and trailer attempted to negotiate a turn from South 4th Street onto Hickory Street and hit a parked car, causing damage to the retaining wall and yard of a residence. The Swift Transportation Truck is expected to have damage to its right side and rear of the trailer and is believed to have continued south along South Centre Street. Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to contact PSP Rockview.
State police responded to a crash around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, along Pleasantview Boulevard in Spring Township. According to police, a 78-year-old Bellefonte man was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla when he hit a rock in the road and over-corrected causing him to swerve into the southbound, hitting a 2024 Lexus RX350 driven by a 64-year-old Spring Wills woman. Police did not report injuries.
State police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, along Interstate 99 in Huston Township. According to police, a 29-year-old Tyrone woman was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue when she lost control on the snowy and icy road causing her to hit a guard rail. The 29-year-old woman was reported to have minor injuries.
