STATE POLICE AT ROCKVIEW

State police investigated “a natural death” that took place at the Centre County Correctional Facility. The person who died was a 46-year-old man from Bellefonte. The death was reported at 1:30 p.m. on April 19. No other details were released by PSP.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along South Eagle Valley Road in Union Township on April 23. According to police, a 16-year-old Howard female crashed her 2012 Nissan Sentra into a ditch. The driver and a 17-year-old male passenger were not hurt in the 4:43 a.m. crash.

The Sentra had to be towed from the scene by Halfmoon Towing.

State police investigated the death of a dog that took place at 10:53 a.m. on April 15 along Runville Road in Boggs Township. According to police, a dog killed another dog. The dog that was killed was owned by a 75-year-old Bellefonte man. The dog that survived was owned by a 63-year-old Bellefonte man.

State police investigated a two-vehicle crash that took place along East Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough on April 20. According to police, Andrew Bertothy, 43, of Philipsburg, was traveling along the roadway in his 2018 Ford Focus when he failed to yield for a 2019 Mazda CX-5 being driven by Karen Desimone, 48, of Philipsburg.

Damage was severe and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene by Dunlap’s Towing. The crash took place at 7:41 a.m.

A case of disorderly conduct was investigated by state police on April 23. According to authorities, two men caused a disturbance at the Nittany Minit-mart on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough. The men — a 26-year-old from Altamonte Springs, Florida, and a 40-year-old man from Allport, were each cited for disorderly conduct in the 12:19 a.m. incident.

State police investigated a case of animal cruelty that took place sometime between Oct. 1, 2022, and April 20, 2023, along Davidson Road in Boggs Township. According to police, a dog was seen with a large wound on its skin. The dog was transported to Metzger Animal Hospital, where it was determined to be in serious condition and had to be put down. Charges will be filed through district court, police said.

State police investigated a domestic incident on April 22 that took place along Ash Circle in Potter Township. According to police, a 31-year-old Bellefonte man allegedly assaulted his ex-wife, a 30-year-old Boalsburg woman. The man was held in the Centre County Correctional Facility, pending arraignment.

The incident took place at 9:44 p.m.

According to state police, a traffic stop took place along Pleasantview Boulevard in Spring Township at 8:19 p.m. on April 22. The driver allegedly had misdemeanor warrants and was transported to the Centre County Correctional Facility.

State police investigated a domestic incident that took place on April 15 along Tunnel Road in Penn Township at 2:43 a.m. According to authorities, a non-traffic citation was issued against Dawn Wingard, 51, of Millheim.

State police investigated an assault that took place in Union Township on April 13. No other details were reported.

A case of drug possession was investigated by state police on April 16 along Interstate 99 in College Township. According to police, PSP initiated a traffic stop around 8 p.m. The driver, Nathan Aldrich, 28, of Fine, New York, was allegedly in possession of seven ounces of marijuana, LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. Aldrich was processed and released, police said.

State police made an arrest for alleged driving under the influence on April 1 at the intersection of South Eagle Valley Road and Shadow Lane in Union Township. According to police, a traffic stop was initiated on a 2013 Chevrolet. The driver, Diane Loesch, 68, of Port Matilda, was allegedly impaired and was arrested for DUI. The traffic stop took place at 1:36 a.m.

A case of public drunkenness was investigated by state police on April 15. According to authorities, a 21-year-old Mechanicsburg man was allegedly highly intoxicated. He was arrested for public drunkenness. The arrest took place around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Fox Hollow Road and Toftrees Avenue in Patton Township.

According to police, Anthony Bonanno was driving his 2021 Toyota C-HR along state Route 322 in Rush Township on April 5 when he struck a deer. Bonanno was not injured in the crash, which took place shortly after 5 a.m. Police were assisted at the scene by Dunlap’s Towing and the Port Matilda Fire Department.

A case of disorderly conduct was investigated by state police on April 7 at the Dollar General along Pennsylvania Avenue in Centre Hall Borough. According to police, Brittany Wingard, 31, of Woodland, acted in a way that annoyed six individuals at the scene.

Wingard was charged with disorderly conduct through district court for the 8:25 p.m. incident. The investigation is closed, police said.

State police investigated a domestic incident that took place along Main Street in Millheim Borough on April 7. According to police, a juvenile male struck a 33-year-old Millheim female with a snow shovel. The incident took place at 5:56 p.m. The investigation is closed, police said.

State police are investigating a case of theft by deception that took place along Brown Road in Miles Township on March 28. According to police, a 60-year-old Rebersburg man mailed a check for $132 in 2022 and it was lost in the mail. On March 28, 2023, the check was altered and cashed for $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash that took place along Interstate 80 in Snow Shoe Township on April 15. According to police, Macey Hess, 23, of Dowagiac, Michigan, was traveling eastbound when she fell asleep at the wheel. Her 2012 Subaru Impreza left the roadway, struck an embankment and became disabled. Hess and a passenger were not injured in the 7:13 a.m. crash.

Hess was cited for her role in the crash.
