STATE COLLEGE — With fall starting in Centre County, celebrating the season is easy with all the fall festivals taking place over the next few months. One of which is University Wine Company’s Harvest and Wine Festival, which will take place on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The Harvest and Wine Festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. at University Wine Company, 540 Misty Hill Drive. Parking for the event is free. The festival will have wine, different food, craft vendors and live music.

“The harvest season is an important time of year at the winery. This is when grapes are harvested for the season and the wine making process begins for the vintage,” Jeff Proch, owner of University Wine Company, shared. “We wanted to celebrate the occasion with a harvest festival and thought incorporating crafts, food trucks and live music would be a fun way to do it.”

University Wine Company is a family-owned winery. They have a selection of red, white and rosé wines. They also have a selection of wine slushies.

Along with serving wine at the festival, there will be a variety of food vendors like the Twisted Whisk, Sunset Slush, Farmstead Fusion, Smokin Hot Butt’s BBQ and Bees Knees Coffee.

Local artists will also have their work on display during the festival. From mittens to hats, jewelry to candles, different teas and more, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

The Harvest Wine and Craft Festival will have three musical performances. Honey Pie, who perform a mix of rock, pop, Americana and roots music, will perform from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Big Red, who perform a range of top hits from the ’70s through the ’90s, will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. Hops and Vines, an acoustic rock duo, will perform from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
