BOALSBURG — A senior at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy was named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Brynn Wright, a senior at SJCA, will receive a letter of commendation from SJCA and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

“In addition to being an exceptional student, Wright is a critical member of Saint Joseph’s varsity cross country and track and field teams, house council and school musical cast,” a statement from SJCA shared.

Generally, 34,000 students are recognized each year for their “exceptional academic promise,” as a part of the National Merit Scholarship Program.

NMSC noted that Commended Students demonstrate exceptional potential for academic success.

“These students represent a valuable national resource. Recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation,” NMSC said.

“We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
