HUMMELSTOWN — The State College Area High School boys tennis team continued its roll with three more wins last week, including sweeping a doubleheader of Lower Dauphin and Northern on Tuesday, April 9, 4-1 and 5-0.

Mark Sandow, William Liu and Ishan Sharma swept the singles matches of the twin bill, while the team of Peter Novikov and Evan Zhang picked up a pair of doubles wins.

Sandow, Liu and Sharma didn’t drop a game in taking down Northern’s Connor Engle, Sam Kessinger and Steven Fiscus. The trio was pushed a little harder against the host school, with Sharma needing three sets to dispatch Brayden Waiter, 7-5, 4-6, 10-7. Sandow was a 6-2, 6-3 winner against Brady Coonelly, while Liu downed Mason Dissinger, 6-0, 6-2.

Against Northern, Novikov and Zhang turned back Zach Graby and Aidan Toole, 6-0, 6-1. They beat Michael Estes and Riley Beers in their other match, 6-4, 6-4.

The tandem of Dash Nealon and Jerry Zhang completed the shutout of Northern with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph of Andrew Rosewage and Brandon Singer. Jerry Zhang teamed up with Yuli Itskov-Curto in the Lower Dauphin match, but Kyle Barber and Dante Neely came out on top, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

Sandow, Liu and Sharma were perfect in singles again — all winning love-love — as the Little Lions ended last week 8-0 by blanking visiting Gettysburg, 5-0, at the Community Field Tennis Center. Sandow beat Alejandro Gozalo, Liu topped Paul Kennedy and Sharma stopped Kiran Platt.

Luke Cessna and Jaxson Cohan were 6-1, 6-1 winners against Luke Elany and Josh Fair.

Novikov and Evan Zhang scored their points in doubles via forfeit.
