Michigan authorities have charged a 30-year-old Centre County man with murder following a Christmas Eve shooting that left one person dead and another injured, according to multiple reports.

Nicholas Millard, of Spring Mills, was arraigned Sunday on counts of first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder and two felony weapons charges.

Gogebic County sheriff’s deputies, state police troopers and Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at a cabin in Marenisco Township, located on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, according to WDIO.

Thomas Fletcher, 49, of Marenisco Township, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, 22-year-old Austin Fletcher, of Irvine, California, was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound and was later released.

Millard’s bail was set at $1 million. He is being held at the Gogebic County Jail.
