Centre Volunteers in Medicine and Penn State are partnering to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Sunday at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The clinic will be open from noon to 6 p.m. for anyone age 12 or older to receive a first, second or booster dose. All three authorized vaccines will be available.
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments, which can be scheduled online, are encouraged. Individuals must wear a mask inside the Jordan Center and should bring photo identification and, if receiving a second dose or booster, their vaccination card.
A parent or guardian must accompany any child under the age of 18.
“We’re delighted to work with Penn State again to bring this vaccination clinic to the Centre Region,” Cheryl White, executive director of CVIM, said in a statement. “This is an opportune time for such a clinic, with students arriving this weekend and the changing vaccination guidelines for the best protection from the omicron variant. We really hope students and members of the community will come out to get boosted or to get their first or second dose.”
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available for first, second and booster doses for ages 12 and older. Booster doses can be administered to those who were fully vaccinated at least five months ago.
The Moderna vaccine is available for first, second and booster doses for ages 18 and older, as well as for a third primary-series dose for immunocompromised individuals 18 and older. Moderna booster doses require six months since full vaccination.
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available for first doses and boosters for ages 18 and older. Johnson & Johnson boosters are available for individuals who were fully vaccinated more than two months ago.
CVIM previously administered COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the Jordan Center in March. The venue also served as the site of a regional vaccination clinic operated by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Department of Health from April through June.
