Now under new owners and management, Duck Donuts’ State College location will celebrate its grand reopening this week with a “Five Days of Fun” event beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

The week will continue with free cinnamon sugar donuts on Thursday, and the first customer in line will receive a prize that includes a free dozen donuts per month for a year. The 100th customer of the day will win a Duck Donuts basket filled with merchandise.

On Friday, a Kid’s Night Event will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Additionally, Penn State students will be welcomed back on Saturday, with every 25th guest with a Penn State ID winning a prize.

The week of celebrations will round out on Sunday, with Duck Donuts taking part in the Food Truck Fiesta benefitting THON from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza right outside the shop’s front door on South Fraser Street.

In addition to a week of fun, September will also kick off a month-long fundraiser supporting Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program. Duck Donuts will raise money toward the purchase of Chemo Duck programs for patients and families at Geisinger Medical Center. Upon donating, guests will receive a free donut coupon during their next visit.

If you’re interested in stopping by for a sprinkle of joy, you can find Duck Donuts located at 125 S. Fraser St. The business is also hiring through its website.

Mechanicsburg-based Duck Donuts has nearly 100 locations across the U.S. since opening its first shop in 2007 in Duck, North Carolina. The State College location opened in 2018 and the local franchise is now owned by John and Sherry Forney, Donna and Scott Rhodes, and Barb and Greg White.
