Sustainable forestry is crucial for the preservation of forests, the environment, and the future of the timber industry. ClearWater Conservancy is pleased to invite you to an insightful Field Tour focused on advancing forest and timber management practices. This event is designed to foster collaboration and share valuable knowledge on improving yields and profitability, enhancing forest health, and supporting wildlife habitats.

Agenda:

  • Forest  and Timber Management Practices: Explore strategies for optimizing yields and profitability while maintaining forest health and sustainability
  • Wildlife Habitat Enhancement: Discuss methods for creating and preserving habitats to meet wildlife goals and objectives
  • Challenges and Solutions: Address current issues around forest health, such as invasives, diseases and pests, and deer impacts, and explore potential solutions.
  • Interactive Discussions: Engage in open dialogue with forest experts and peers to share experiences and insights.

Itinerary:

8:45 – 9:15 am  Arrival and check-in

9:15 – 9:30 am Introductions

9:30 – 11:30 am Walking Tour

11:30 am – Noon Reconvene at cabin for discussion and food/beverage

Partner organizations attending are: ClearWater, Audubon Mid-Atlantic, PA DCNR Bureau of Forestry, PA Game Commission, Penn State University, and industry professionals (Brumbaugh Lumber and Moonlight Forestry)
