Pennsylvania’s Democratic hopefuls are set to team up at a campaign event on Penn State’s campus this week.

John Fetterman, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, will join Democratic gubernatorial nominee Josh Shapiro on Old Main Lawn as part of the latter’s “get out the vote” bus tour across Pennsylvania. The event, dubbed “Rally in the Valley,” will stretch from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

State Rep. Austin Davis, the Democratic lieutenant governor nominee, will join Fetterman and Shapiro at the event, which is hosted in collaboration with Penn State College Democrats.

While the rally is free, prospective attendees are encouraged to register online ahead of time.

Shapiro, who has served as Pennsylvania’s attorney general since 2017, will face Republican nominee and Franklin County state senator Doug Mastriano in the race for governor. Mastriano will host his own campaign rally in State College on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The upcoming election will bring Pennsylvania’s high-profile candidates to the Centre Region for the first time in a while. Shapiro and Fetterman respectively spoke at the Centre County Democratic Committee’s summer picnic in August and at the county Democrats’ fall dinner in October. Mehmet Oz, the Republican U.S. Senate nominee, greeted Penn Staters in the tailgate lots at Beaver Stadium before the Nittany Lions played Northwestern on Oct. 1.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. Voters can visit centrecountyvotes.gov to check their registration status, find their polling place and review sample ballots.
