Motorcyclist Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on South Atherton Street

One person was flown to a hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in College Township, according to State College police.

Police responded at 2:51 p.m. to the intersection of South Atherton Street and West Branch Road for a crash involving a motorcycle and SUV.

The motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to UPMC Altoona to be treated for injuries. Information about the motorcyclist and the extent of the injuries was not yet available.

The occupants of the SUV were not injured.

Roads in the area of the crash were closed for more than two hours while State College detectives and accident reconstruction specialists from Ferguson and Patton townships investigated.

The investigation is ongoing and police did not disclose the circumstances of the crash.
