Ana was born on January 7, 1947, in Edcouch, Hildago County, Texas, to Simon and Maria Ann Rameriz. Although she was born in Texas, Ana grew up in Yakima, Washington, and Cassia County, Idaho. Her travels as a child prepared her well for her adult life.

Ana fell in love and married Art Gilbert Valadez in Cassia County, Idaho on October 14, 1963. Together they embarked on a life in the military when Art enlisted in the United States Army on May 12th, 1972. She and Art served faithfully and gave a lifetime of service to our Army and Nation, serving at multiple posts across the country during their 22-year career. Their Army journey included assignments with the following organizations: the 9th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington; the 27th Infantry Regiment “Wolfhounds,” 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Fort Bliss, Texas, the Republic of Korea, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Belgium, and two more tours at Fort Lewis, Washington. Ana loved being a Soldier’s wife- supporting Art and his Soldiers and their families in every mission and endeavor, while raising their pride and joy Ana Maria.

Ana loved taking care of and supporting her family and traveling. She was an avid gardener and always kept a pristine yard wherever they lived. She also had a passion for making quilts and enjoyed making them for family members and for orphans in Honduras. She was always willing to give her time and was a frequent volunteer to the military community both while they were on active duty and even in retirement.

Ana was preceded in her death by her parents Simon and Maria (Guerra) Ramirez, her brother Alberto Ramirez, sister Mary Rose Hindershot and her beloved son-in-law John E. Sena, Jr.

She is survived by her adoring husband Art, her daughter Ana; her granddaughters Audry-Ana Figueroa and Jenni Sena; her grandson-in-law Jesus “Chucho” Figueroa; her future grandson-in-law Austin Van Natten; her three great-grandsons Jesus “Chuchito” Figueroa Jr, Odin Figueroa, and Atlas Figueroa and her brother Juan Ramirez.
