Charlotte F. “Fay” Rockey, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Family Hospice Center in Pittsburgh. Born on December 3, 1934, in Stormstown, she was the daughter of the late Gregg D. and Stella M. (Behrers) McKinley. On July 24, 1953, at the Filmore Methodist Church, she married Trueman E. Rockey, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2014.
Fay graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1953. She worked in retail at Danks in State College, and then BonTon until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of the Filmore Methodist Church and later attended the Trinity United Church.
Fay enjoyed spending her time quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking and was an avid painter. She loved the times spent with her family.
Fay is survived by four children, Gary E. Rockey and his wife, Susan, of Bellefonte, Sherry L. Rockey and her husband, Benjamin Knotts, of Wheaton, MD, Steven B. Rockey and his partner, Laurie Linton, of Bellefonte, and Thomas J. Rockey and his wife, Karen Shaffer, of Dresher; six grandchildren, Tyler Rockey and his wife, Jacki, of Philadelphia, Brittany Rockey of Tampa, FL, Arwen Anderson and her husband, Chad, of Tampa, FL, Grey Rockey of Bellefonte, Lila Rockey of Havre de Grace, MD, and Gavin Rockey of Dresher; and two sisters, Jean Falk of Ohio and Nancy Parks of Bellefonte.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 3-5pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11am, at the funeral home with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiating. Fay will be laid to rest next to her husband at Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township.
