D. Louise Stere, age 92, of Fleming, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg. She was born on May 17, 1921, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Olin and Ruth Parsons Tingue.
A graduate of Bellefonte High School and a graduate of Empire Beauty School in Altoona, Louise was a self-employed beautician in Bellefonte and Unionville. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was jovially referred to as the town taxi which included many bowling trips. Louise was a charter member of Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Fleming.
Her husband, Pastor John C. Stere (founding pastor of the Berean Bible Church), whom she married on October 11, 1941, preceded her in death October 7, 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. (Ted) Langham of Fleming and Cathy L. Spahn of Fleming; one son, William B. (Nancy) Stere of Fleming; seven grandchildren, Bethany Whitcomb, Brenda Holderman, Theodore Langham III, Jennifer Cardona, Melanie Ort, Tera Moon and Tashawna Hauger; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joseph Spahn.
Services will be held at Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 360 Race St., Unionville (Fleming), on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jack Palmer officiating. Family and Friends will be received Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the Berean Bible Fellowship Church from 10:00 A.M. – Noon time of the services. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre County.
