Surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy M. Yorks, 88, of Milesburg, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Dorothy was born on June 2, 1926, in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Frances Dunlap Raymond. On August 19, 1944, she married James M. Yorks who preceded her in death August 28, 2002. Dorothy was a homemaker, and she and her late husband were owners of York's Gulf Station in Milesburg. Dorothy was a member of Milesburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, James R. (Diane) Yorks, of State College, and two daughters, Sandra Y. (Robert) Friend, of Milesburg, and Annette M. Yorks, of Milesburg. Also surviving is a brother, Frederick J. Raymond, of Bellefonte, and one grandson and five step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald D. Raymond, and two half brothers, Robert Raymond and Rufus Raymond.
A memorial service will be held at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, PA, on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11 A.M. with Charles “Chuck” Yorks officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp., Centre Co., at the convenience of the family.
