Harold Oscar Wolfe, 80, of rural Spring Mills, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
He was born September 6, 1933, on the family farm in Centre Hall, a son of the late Harry and Carrie Bartges Wolfe.
On July 2, 1960 he married Harriet “Bonnie” Confer Wolfe who survives at home.
Harold graduated from Gregg Township High School and from age seventeen, following his father’s death, spent his life farming the family farm.
Mr. Wolfe is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Farmers Mills. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Union, having served as a past president of the Centre County Chapter. He also served on the Gregg Township Planning Commission, having served as secretary.
Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Tammy Lesniak and her husband Michael of Spring Mills, Scott D. Wolfe of Spring Mills, Steven T. Wolfe and his wife Tammy of Centre Hall, Jennifer S. Smith and her husband Bradley of Zionsville, IN, Adam S. Wolfe and his wife Melanie of Lansdale, PA and Dr. Grant C. Wolfe and his wife Josie of Woodstock, GA; ten grandchildren, Nicolas and Ashley Lesniak, Cecilia Wolfe, Michael Johnson, Collin, Zoe, Ellis, Nolan, Cora and Heidi Wolfe; two brothers, Marlin Wolfe of Elizabethville, and Donald Wolfe and his wife Leona of Belleville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Leona Matthews, and two brothers, Eugene and Glenn Wolfe.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 pm Friday, April 4, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C. 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA; and from 10 to 11 pm Saturday April 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11 am at the funeral home with the Reverend K. R.
