Helen Louise Probst, 81, of Pine Glen, joined Jesus and her family & friends in Heaven on Friday, November 8, 2013. Born on July 5, 1932, in Clarence, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Brunyak) Gavlock. On July 5, 1968, she married her soul mate, Herbert E. Probst, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 31, 2011.

Helen enjoyed life and always had a smile for everyone. She and her husband, Herb, entertained many folks over the years with their country and western music. Her beautiful voice will never be forgotten and now Helen is happy to be singing in Heaven’s Choir.

Helen love baking, cooking, camping, traveling, bird-watching, entertaining and spending time with her treasured family and friends. She was known for her delicious apple pies. She had the ability to make everyone feel special and loved.

Helen was a member of the Mountaintop Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Snow Shoe, where she served as a Deaconess. She loved the Lord and loved her church family. She was extremely grateful for all the prayers lifted up, cards sent, and concern expressed by her church family and friends.

Helen was the mother of Jackie (Terry) Benton of Pine Glen; Darlene (Patrick) Fanning of Moshannon, and Bonnie (Greg) Breon of Zion. She was “Gram” to her grandchildren; Teisha Guenot, Justin Breon, Holly Probst, Amanda (Dirk) Hamilton, Ryan (Amanda) Fanning, and Cody and Dusty Croyle. She was “Bubba” to her great grandchildren; Jessa Hockenbury, Caleigh, Regan & Gavin Guenot, Ryder Hamilton, Aubrey Burke, Lawson & Talon Breon, and Hailey Stellhorn. Helen was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and also loved her step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Helen was the last of her generation. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three brothers; Andy, Joe, and George, and four sisters; Mary Moore, Katherine “Kate” Seroka, Caroline Larson, and Anna Mae Huey.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 2-4pm & 6-8pm and on Thursday, November 14, 2013 10-11am at the Mountaintop Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 675 E. Sycamore Rd., Snow Shoe. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11am at the church with Pastor Douglas Mottin officiating. Burial will follow at the Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.
