Paul W. "Pud" Hanley, 79 of Orviston, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Orviston on August 26, 1933 a son of the late Paul J. "Dutch" and Agnes Sinder Hanley. He married Clarahissa Jeirles on May 11, 1957 she survives at home.

Pud was employed at General Refractories for 40 years, retiring from J.H. France, Clarence in 1995.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion and the Bellefonte Moose.

Pud was a man who couldn't keep still, and loved cutting wood and working. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going to camp.

Along with his wife he is survived by two daughters; Stacy L. Hopkins (Bill) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. and Darla Jo Chubb (Leonard) of Norwood, N.C., a son; Michael Paul Hanley of Orviston, three sisters; Loretta Young (Chester) of Orviston, Ellen Bechdel (Fred) of Beech Creek, and Penny Hugney (Stan) of Karthaus, three brothers; Ronald of Orviston, Gaylord (Dollie) and Jerry (Vickie) all of Beech Creek, four grandchildren; Meesha and Michael Hanley, Marcie Jo Peters and Kelsey Lynn Chubb and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Karl Steele officiating. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Summit Hill Cemetery.
