The Lord was done sharing Raymond Clayton Wilson with his loved ones and friends and called him to his Heavenly Home on October 4, 2024.
Raymond (Ray) Wilson, a follower of Jesus, a loving, devoted, faithful husband, a wise and loving father, a cherished trusted friend was born on January 18, 1934. He was married to Sally Ann (Rider) Wilson on March 21, 1953, who was called to Heaven on November 22, 2012.
His surviving sons Richard (Sandra) Wilson, (Lancaster, PA), Robert Wilson (State College, PA), Donald (Sandra) Wilson (Bellefonte, PA) and widowed daughter Elizabeth (Jeff) Dreyer (Virginia Beach, VA) are part of his living and eternal legacy. Ray and Sally had 8 grandchildren: Emily (Wilson) Rhodes, Benjamin Wilson, Lindsey (Wilson) Kirchner, Jamie (Decker) Troy, Adam and Ethan Dreyer, Clayton Wilson and Brianna (Wilson) Osborne and 14 great grandchildren.
He was the son of James and Myra E. (Barton) Wilson and born in Cabot, PA and was raised in Julian, PA. He had two sisters Lila Bickel and Betsy Gift who have preceded him in death.
Raymond not only proudly served his Lord; he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict serving in Korea. He was a founding member of the First Baptist Church of Bellefonte.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts be sent to the First Baptist Church of Bellefonte, 539 Jacksonville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 11am until 12pm, with a celebration of life service to follow at 12pm, at First Baptist Church, 539 Jacksonville Road, with Pastor Greg Shipe officiating. A private interment will take place with full military honors at the convenience of the family.
