Robert Wayne Wilson, 86 of Snydertown, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born on August 15, 1936, son of the late Bruce and Carrie (Whippo) Wilson. Robert “Bob” graduated from Bellefonte High School and subsequently attended Williamsport Technical Institute. Bob was proud to have enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked at Cero Metal Corporation in Bellefonte as a draftsman/machine designer and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of Saint Mark Lutheran Church.
Bob loved learning new skills and then applying them to a project. He was exceptional at being able to build and fix almost anything. He designed and built his family’s home. He loved to work or just be outdoors. He grew fruit trees, grape vines, and had a very respectable garden. He loved hunting, fishing, walking in the woods and simply sitting in his breezeway on his favorite swing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet (Ishler), his daughter, Suanne and his brother and sisters, Bruce, Mary Blackford, and Katherine White (Bogar) and his many nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry, Frederick, James and John; brother-in-law, Donald Blackford and two sisters-in-law, Peg and Judith.
The family extends their sincerest thank you to the staff of Celebration Villa of Nittany Valley (formerly Elmcroft) and Grand Hospice for their loving and dedicated care of Bob.
A celebration of the life will be announced at a later date.
