Tammy Lee Lassman Black, 50, of Rebersburg, died Sunday, December 12, 2021, at home.
Born October 6, 1971, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Richard E. and Joan Horner Lassman. On April 3, 2008 she married Douglas Leon Black, who survives.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Jules (Zoe) Black; a sister, Teri Ault and her husband David of Bellefonte; two nephews, Dylan Jones (Marcia) of Bellefonte and Shango Black-Smith of State College, and a niece, Maggie Jones of Bellefonte.
Tammy graduated from State College Area High School in 1989. She was a member of Mount Nittany United Methodist Church.
Tammy left us, left this world, very suddenly. This was unexpected and we are reeling from the horrible shock and trying to adjust to this unwanted new reality. If you knew Tammy, then you know how much she loved her family: She was a cherished daughter and sister, and a ride-or-die wife. She was loyal to the core. Above all, she relished being a proud parent to Jules whom she loved with all her heart. She believed being Jules’ mother was her greatest role in life. We mourn. But also, we must celebrate our memories! Tammy was a lot of fun to be around, and her laugh was infectious. She wasn’t the slightest bit pretentious and never looked down on anyone. Drink a glass of wine in her honor, listen to some music, enjoy your friends, love your kids and love your family. We will miss her forever.
Close family and friends will be received for a visitation from 10:00 AM to Noon, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College. There will be a memorial service immediately following at the church with Pastor Chris Passante officiating.
