William J. “Bill” Miller, Jr.,76, of Howard passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on September 28, 1944, in Bellefonte a son of the late William J. and Isabel Keeler Miller, Sr. He was married to Jean K. (McKinley) Miller who survives at home. Also surviving are his children, Joy Barkalow of Clarksville, TN.,Billie Jo (Darrell) Knepp of Port Matilda, Paula Rearick of Runville, step-son Wade (Bella) McKinley of Clarksville, TN his siblings, Marilyn Lucas of Lock Haven, Donald Miller of Zion, Lois Sayers of Fetzertown, Jon Miller of Fetzertown and Glenn Miler of State College, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Bill attended Bellefonte High School. In his earlier years he played and coached softball for Hawbakers. Bill loved to go on hunting and fishing trips with family and friends. Bill enjoyed making sauerkraut, homemade mustard and hot peppers. He served his country in the US Army, from 1961 – 1964. Bill was employed at Cerro Metal Products before his retirement. He attended Eagle Heights Bible Church and Howard United Methodist Church, and he was a member of the Howard V.F.W. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Steven Miller, his sister Marie Wagner and his brother George Miller.


Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6 PM-8 PM at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St. Milesburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. at 11 AM with Pastor Stephen R. Hicks and Pastor Craig Rose officiating. We will be following CDC recommendations, facial coverings will be required and social distancing is encouraged. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp., Centre Co. where military honors will be accorded.
