Penn State Athletics on Friday announced a small increase in football season ticket prices for 2019 and changes for traffic and parking around Beaver Stadium.

Tickets will increase by $14 for the season, or $2 per game, for all general public seats, including the main seating bowl, the Mount Nittany Club and suites. That will bring the price of a general public season ticket from $420 to $434.

Nittany Lion Club payment levels and season car and RV parking prices will remain unchanged. Advanced single-game parking prices, however, will increase from $20 to $25.

“We are grateful for the outstanding support from Penn State alumni, students and fans for Nittany Lion football,” Athletic Director Sandy Barbour said in a news release. “The investment of resources, time and passion our season ticket holders make in our program and the electric atmosphere they create in Beaver Stadium are unrivaled. The decisions we make come with careful deliberation about the potential impact on our loyal fans and community, improving the overall fan experience, and the conditions for success we create for our student-athletes.”

Season ticket holders will be notified in early December when renewal for 2019 is available. The renewal deadline will be Feb. 1. Penn State hosts Idaho, Buffalo, Pitt, Purdue, Michigan, Indiana and Rutgers next season.

Parking and traffic changes

After working with a consultant to address game day traffic and parking challenges around Beaver Stadium, several changes will be implemented for 2019.

The biggest changes are the creation of four traffic zones and designating game day parking for general parking lots. Some parking lot names and or numbers will change, but there will still be three parking tiers: reserved, preferred and general.

Fans will be required to enter the game day traffic pattern and travel to their lot from one of four traffic zones — North, South, East and West — and all parking permits will have zone and lot specific driving direction instructions. The traffic zones are expected to ease congestion, simplify parking, make entering and exiting easier, and eliminate vehicular traffic at the Park Avenue-Porter/Fox Hollow intersection.

Only three general parking cash lots — located in the North, West and East traffic zones — will be offered on game day, while spaces remain.

Fans who purchased Yellow season parking for 2018 will need to renew their parking permits and then select a specific general lot for the entire 2019 season. More information will be released at a later date.

ADA parking will be unaffected.
