Penn State is getting some afternoon hockey following game time announcements by the Big Ten on Monday morning.
The Nittany Lions won’t be diving into afternoon play right off the bat though, Penn State is slated to face Notre Dame at Pegula Ice Arena this Thursday and Friday for 6 p.m. puck drops.
Penn State is off the following week
From most of the rest of the season though it’s going to be hockey over lunch as Penn State faces Ohio State the following week ( Feb. 12/13) at 2 p.m. for the second game of the series. First game puck drop TBD.
Following the Nittany Lions will take on Arizona State at Noon (BTN) and 2 p.m. and then Minnesota at 2 p.m. and Noon. Both of the games against Gophers will be carried on the Big Ten Network.
Penn State will close out the regular season at Notre Dame with puck drops at 7:30 and 5:30. The first game will be carried on NBCSN while the second will be carried on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The game will mark the Nittany Lions’ first road contest since Jan. 9.
The Nittany Lions are currently ranked No. 27 in the PairWise, well outside the Top 16 needed to make the postseason tournament. In turn, wins -and loss- will greatly impact Penn State’s hopes moving forward.
