After more than two decades of serving coffee in downtown State College, Saint’s Cafe is set to permanently close on Dec. 19.
“After deep reflection and twenty two years of service, we have decided to close Saint’s Cafe,” posts on the cafe’s Instagram and Facebook account said. “We want to thank all of our past and present employees, and customers old and new for their patronage over the years.”
The 123 W. Beaver Ave. business will continue operating through Penn State’s finals week and close its doors permanently on Sunday, Dec. 19. Coffee and merchandise continue to be available from Saint’s’ online store.
The shop will be replaced by Elixr Coffee, a coffee roasting company from Philadelphia, which will continue to employ Saint’s staff. It’s unclear exactly when the transition will take place.
Saint’s has been serving the State College community since owners Craig and Mary Kay Avedesian opened its doors in 1999.
