Penn State wrestling’s future just got stronger.

No. 1-ranked Class of 2024 wrestler Joe Sealey committed to Penn State on Monday, according to a post on his Instagram page. The High Point, North Carolina prospect took gold at the U17 World Championships for Team USA in July.

“I am excited to announce that I am continuing my athletic and academic career at Penn State!” Sealey wrote. “I am so incredibly grateful to my family, friends, and coaches that got me to where I am.”

The 160-pound prospect serves as the third commit secured by head coach Cael Sanderson over the last two months. In September, the Nittany Lions successfully notched commitments from AJ Fricchione and Zack Ryder in the Classes of 2023 and 2024, respectively.

Once he arrives on campus, Sealey will join a Penn State squad that won a team national championship and five individual national championships last year.

Penn State’s upcoming season will begin Nov. 11 at Rec Hall when the Nittany Lions take on Lock Haven.
