A snow storm moving through the region on Wednesday was causing problems on local roads.
The National Weather Service at State College issued a winter weather advisory for southern Centre County — including the State College, Bellefonte and Penns Valley areas — through 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected, with about 5 inches in higher terrains
AccuWeather forecasts 3 inches of snow for the State College area.
A winter storm warning is in effect for northern Centre County, including the Philipsburg area, through 6 p.m., with heavy snow totaling 4 to 8 inches.
Drivers should expect slippery road conditions, especially in the early afternoon. Roads are likely to improve by late afternoon in the southern part of the county, but hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute in the northern part of the county.
Crashes resulted in several road closures on Wednesday morning and early afternoon.
Route 322 between Sharer Road and Bear Meadows Road in Boalsburg was closed in both directions for about an hour after multiple crashes around 11:30 a.m. At least one crash involving two vehicles occurred near Tait Farm, according to Centre County dispatch.
The road reopened at about 12:35 p.m.
Route 322 eastbound from Port Matilda Mountain to Sandy Ridge Trail in Rush Township was closed for several hours because of a crash and poor road conditions.
Route 350/Tyrone Pike was also closed between Sandy Ridge and Tyrone but has since reopened.
Speed restrictions were in effect on parts of Interstates 80 and 99 but have since been lifted.

• Penn State Health Medical Group Family & Community Medicine at Park Avenue will be closing at 5 p.m. tonight and will not have any evening clinic hours.
• Bald Eagle Area School District has canceled all after-school activities for Wednesday.
